OUR FRIEND SRI J.V. RAMANA REDDY, INDEFATIGABLE FIGHTER FOR TELUGU UNITY!
We are glad to inform all our members and sympathizers that well-known leftist intellectual and former NCERT top officer, Sri J.V. RAMANA REDDY, a close friend of the dedicated IAS officer and downtrodden people's champion, late Sri S.R. SANKARAN, has been from long years consistently upholding the cause of Telugu unity and strongly campaigning for keeping up the unity of Andhra Pradesh with equitable development and justice to all regions in a spirit of friendship and harmony between all Telugus of the State and even outside the State. We hereunder publish some of his recent letters addressed to the Prime Minister of India, espousing the cause of Telugu unity and in course of his campaign to save Andhra Pradesh:
1.
The Honorable Prime Minister, 20.01.2013
Government of India,
New Delhi.
Sir,
We
request you not to allow the present linguistic states to divide into smaller
states. This will surely undermine
the unity of the country and welfare of the society. It will only serve the
purpose of the politicians who are only interested in power but not in the
welfare of the working class. They are interested in amassing wealth concealing
all their sins and grab power.
One should put National interest
above party interest. We humbly request you not to encourage
divisive forces creating hatred among the people living harmoniously for their
selfish ends. Please recollect how British could establish their power in this
country. So, don’t give the same scope once again to others.
Please
do not encourage blackmailing tactics of divisive forces for the division of
linguistic states formed on the recommendation of state reorganization
commission again. If you yield to their pressure tactics, there will not be an
end to it and finally it leads to balkanization of India.
Some
theoreticians may say smaller states will help faster development and may make
Center strong. In our opinion, creating
smaller states may be considered only if they serve the larger interest of hill tribes and daily wage labour SCs. Other than that this proposal is not valid
for the following reasons:
·
Small
States with smaller Assemblies mean political instability and inflaming public
passion and inciting chauvinistic sentiments in the masses will ultimately lead
to no development.
·
Small States will give scope for anti-social,
power-hungry, unemployed politicians, etc., to arouse irrational sentiments to
participate in agitations with divisive forces.
·
Most
of the revenues available will be sufficient for non-plan expenditure.
·
Smaller states lead to the emergence of more regional parties,
·
This will make it very difficult to form government
at the centre,
·
It will
lead to political instability,
·
Frequent elections, disruptions to governance and increased
expenditure,
·
Interstate
disputes over water
and other resources will multiply,
·
In small states the voice of daily wage labourers
will dwindle,
·
In
the age of advanced science and technology and improved communication and
transportation, the size of a state is no impediment for its harmonious growth
and development,
·
So far no linguistic state formed after 1956 is
divided.
Regional parties are coming up only
to get power for the person starting it and to their family members by giving
false promises to the innocent and gullible public of this country.
As per recent media reports some of
your cabinet colleagues are for agitations and number of parliament seats to
win in the next general elections are the criteria to divide Andhra Pradesh.
This attitude will encourage anarchy in the existing peaceful atmosphere of the
country.
Agitations and violent protests lead to burning of buses,
damage to railway tracks; public offices, etc. Can anybody encourage this? Who
will pay for the damages? But the common man is made to pay for all the
damages.
It is evident that the city of
Hyderabad is not the sole property of any region. Also it occupies unique place
in the country.
Hyderabad has been developed by the sweat
and blood of the people of all the present regions of A.P. and other parts who
were under Nizam.
On Various occasions you have made
statements that A.P. is not going to be divided unless there is a unanimous
decision from the state.
Science
and technology is essential for the development of the nation. This can take place only in big countries.
Division of states into smaller areas will ultimately lead to disintegration of
the country.
Sir, we have sent number of times
letters addressed to you and to Home minister through emails on linguistic states.
We once again request
you not to divide A.P. in the national interest.
With regards,
Yours sincerely,
J.V. Ramana Reddy,
S R Sankaran Grama Chaitanya Kendram,
Nellore District, Andhra Pradesh – 524 406

2.
Sir,
08.07.2013
Please read the
attachment and then take decision on division of Linguistic states other
than Hindi states keeping National interest above party interest. Whether we live or not let the present form
of the country be there. We do not doubt your unquestionable honesty and integrity. But even
then we request you not to sow the seeds of division of linguistic
states for disintegration of the country, so that your name will be
remembered forever.
Division of Andhra Pradesh would amount to extending an open invitation
to extremists and fundamentalists to setup a vast base for them. Therefore we request
you to consider the following options.
1) Declare
unequivocally no further division of linguistic states will take place, or
2) Appoint
a committee to identify backward areas in the country and provide central
assistance for their scientific development, or
3) Appoint
a second State Reorganization committee to take stock of all the demands for
creation of new states and make objective recommendations.
With
regards,
Yours
sincerely,
J.V. Ramana Reddy,

R Sankaran Grama Chaitanya Kendram,

Sub: Division of Linguistic States

3.
The
Honorable Prime Minister,
08.07.2013
Government
of India,
New
Delhi.
Sir
In
continuation of the communications we sent you previously, we are now sending this
to you to make a final appeal to you to appoint the second states
reorganization committee and settle the issue of division of linguistic states
once and for all and thus inscribe your name in the history books of
Independent India. It is in your hands whether to protect the National interest
that is to keep the country united by declaring that no more new states will be
created by dividing linguistic states formed in 1956 or sow the seeds of division of linguistic states for disintegration of
the country so that your name will be remembered forever.
We
urge you to give the mandate to a Committee to identify all the backward areas
in the country and propose viable developmental steps to be taken to deal with
such areas. Simultaneously, we appeal to you place a ban on government
employees joining in active party politics, particularly in the name of separate
state movements. Such activities not only undermine the capacities of the
government to function effectively, but they lead to enormous uncertainties in
the day to day affairs of the government and cause untold misery to the public.
The following: may please be considered.
1.
In
1956 linguistic states were formed for administrative convenience of people
speaking the same language and for their cultural unity and for enriching the
language of the people. In that process Andhra Pradesh was also formed.
2.
The
formation of a separate state of Andhra Pradesh was the result of the dreams of
all Telugu people. It has become a boon to oppressed people of Telangana
region as they enjoy facilities for every type of education and for all other
developmental activities also self-respect of working class has improved. All
these irked the earlier bosses and their children.
3. Separate
Telangana movement is started by the dominant castes or classes and politically
disgruntled, as they feel deprived because, after integration, they don’t enjoy
their old power and privileges. Some political parties are
also toeing the line and are aligning only for drawing political mileage.
4.
.As long as Dr.
Y.S.Rajasekar Reddy was Chief Minister, no one in his Ministry talked about
division of the State except some old unemployed politicians of the Party. Can we
believe such kind of leaders and give credence to their views?
5. Sir, as eminent
economists can you encourage creation of small states? if you do not urgently develop an integrated approach to the question
of small states, the future of national political parties will become
uncertain. Creation of smaller states will lead to the emergence of more regional parties and thereby
lead to political instability. Because of unnecessary
expenditure on administration etc. will hinder economic growth and also
lead to water, border etc. disputes forever.
6.
Late
Sri N T Rama Rao started the Telugu
Desam party not for division of the state but for the unity and respect for
Telugu people.
7.
It
was in continuation of this same logic that the Telugu Desam MPs in Lok Sabha
protested with placards opposing the division of A.P. and went up to the Speaker’s podium, in December, 2009. Mr. Y.S.Jagan Mohan Reddy also joined
this protest by snatching a placard from one of the members of TDP (Mr. Nimmala Kistappa).
8. When Mr. Payyavula Kesav, Mr. Yenamala
Ramakrushnudu etc., MLAs and other party leaders were making statements in
support of undivided A P. and encouraged the student community to demonstrate
in support of united A.P. why did Mr.Chadrababu
Naidu not condemn their actions? Doesn’t
it show his or his party’s rank opportunism?
9.
We
may similarly ask why Mr. Y. S. Jagan
Mohan Reddy, being the head of his party, is not asking some of his important
party functionaries not to make any statement against his actions in
Parliament. Does it not mean that he is
another rank opportunist?
10. Though
the BJP is a national party, the present
leadership of the party has no national perspective and foresight to see
the consequences of their actions, except to get recognition by coming to power
at any cost. It has been advocating smaller states, have no national outlook
and welfare of the working class, except exploiting the innocent in the name of
religion. We are saddened by their
poverty of imagination. It is another
opportunistic Party.
11. The reason for opposing further division of
linguistic states is only in the national interest. Otherwise it is only an open invitation to
anarchy and fragmentation of the country. And also for the advantage to hostile
neighboring countries who want to benefit from India’s disintegration.
12. Hindi-speaking
states only divided that too for the benefit of Tribals. Also Hindi states were
not formed on the basis of Language.
13. Can anybody say
the division of A.P. is going to help the most neglected Primitive/Hill Tribes? On the other it will split the tribal home lands of Chenchus and Koyas etc.; and thereby these tribes lose whatever little influence
they now have and make them fight among themselves and forced to depend on
feudal exploiters.
14.
Instead
of dividing the state, one should think about creating new districts like Nallamala, Gondwana, Rampa, and Araku in
A.P. for the development of Hill
Tribes who are the worst sufferers in the hands of exploiters of the State,
15.
The
present Telangana agitation is only for the revenues of Hyderabad city. Hyderabad has been developed by the sweat
and blood of the people of all the present regions of A.P. and other parts who
were under Nizam. And as capital of an enlarged Andhra Pradesh it has benefitted
a lot.
16. In the age of advanced science,
technology, improved transport and communication the size of a state is no hurdle
for its harmonious growth and development.
17. One should keep
in mind the larger interest of the Nation. If the authorities yield to the
pressure tactics of the disgruntled politicians to divide the present
Linguistic States one can’t see the present form of the Country and regional
demands like Dravidsthan, Kalisthan, etc.
will crop up.
18. We appeal to you
to think about creating states not on the basis of sentiment but on the basis
of scientific statistics and for the welfare of Primitive or Hill Tribes with
all infrastructures.
19. If sentiment is honored in one region, the
sentiments of other places also have to be honored (For e.g. Gurkha land, Nagaland, Jammu and Kashmir,
etc.); and it becomes an unending affair permanent problem to the centre
till every district or still smaller area in the country is made separate
state.
20. ‘Telangana’
means ‘Land of Telugu people’. It simply means a tract in India where people
speak Telugu Language. It is evident even from the map in the book: “India- A
History” by John Keay (page 280) published by Harper Collins (early 16th
century).
21. There is not
even the excuse of backwardness. Actually, Telangana region prospered a lot
more than the other regions after the formation of the state of Andhra Pradesh,
also when compared with those parts of the erstwhile Hyderabad state which were
merged with Maharashtra and Karnataka.
22. Can
anybody say what self-respect and culture of so called Telangana region is
affected? The people of all religions are following their respective religious
culture
23. In this connection let
us recollect late Mrs. Indira Gandhi’s speech in the parliament on 21st
December, 1972 on Telangana issue.
24. We do not want
to trouble you with statistics, which are available in Sri Krishna Committee
report. Also request you to put National
interest above party interest
25. In
the light of the above, I would request you to stand rock-like as the Central
leadership of the past and steer the ship of the State through these troubled
times.
26. Let
us not allow this country to lose its identity by yielding to the pressure
tactics of blackmailers, and go waste sacrifices made by freedom fighters. It
is Sardar Patel and British are responsible for the present form of our
country. Let us preserve it.
Sir, on various occasions you have made statements
that A.P.is not going to be divided unless there is unanimous decision from the
people A.P. Our analysis leads us to the inescapable conclusion that there are
only three (3) paths to action for your office in this regard.
1) Declare
unequivocally no further division of linguistic states will take place,
2) Appoint
a committee to identify backward areas in the country and provide central
assistance for their scientific development,
3) Appoint
a second State Reorganization committee to take stock of all the demands for
creation of new states and make objective recommendations.
We trust that you will take the appropriate decision
and do the country proud. We look up to your unquestionable honesty and
integrity.
With regards,
Yours sincerely,

4.
The
Honorable Prime Minister,
03.08.2013
Government
of India,
New
Delhi.
Sir,
We have appealed to you
to consider our point of view before taking a decision in vain. Now we want to
place on record our view of the present situation. We feel that you deserve to
be congratulated for your unflinching loyalty to a person to whom you owe your
present office. You also deserve to be congratulated for the way in which you
have held narrow party interests above national interests.
1.
No
one can understand your thinking how backward small states with scarce
resources develop fast. Also we are not able to comprehend why you are having a
grouse against people of Andhra and Rayalaseema regions of Andhra Pradesh.
2.
Sir
don’t you know major part of the revenue
of the state is coming from Hyderabad and surrounding areas only, because of
establishment of major industries, companies and institutions in and around
Hyderabad?
3.
Is
it not because of thoughtless policies of C.Ms of this state especially TDP
leader and central governments who have established all most all major
industries and important institutions there only?
4.
When
you wanted to give entire revenues to one province then why did you establish
industries and other institutions in and around Hyderabad city only?
5.
Why
can’t they follow the example of Tamil Nadu?
6.
Don’t
you know Rayalaseema region is neglected completely? Can you cite even a single
industry worth its name is established. Also any important institution has come
up there? How that area can mobilize revenues and provide job opportunities?
Also what are the irrigation facilities available?
7.
Don’t
you think had the capital been in Kurnool itself that region would have
developed better than Hyderabad? Since better facilities than Hyderabad were available
there.
8.
Now
take the case of Andhra region. There also only one major industry i.e., Steel
plant in Visakhapatnam is established in independent India after long struggle
9.
All employment
opportunities are also available in Hyderabad and surrounding areas.
10.
What
an agony the people of Andhra and Rayalaseema are now having?
11.
You
may give some amount to buildings etc., but what about revenue and job
opportunities and irrigation?
12.
To
satisfy one or two individuals your government is trying to do a lot of harm to
the state of Andhra Pradesh people in particular and people of entire country
in general. Is it good?
13.
Don’t
you know people who want to harm others only be ruined and spend sleepless
nights later?
14.
Since
opportunistic BJP said that it will
create separate state of Telangana you are in hurry to declare it. That shows
you have already predicted that your party is going to lose next election, and
may not be able to make a person in waiting to occupy your chair.
15.
If
you are very particular to get more number of seats declare Prohibition in the entire country with exception in some
cold areas you will succeed, but not by harming the people of particular region
keeping in mind one or two individuals.
16.
Is
there, not even a single member in UPA or in CWC to differ with your decision
shows how present day politicians are after power and money, and also how party
leadership is arrogant?
17.
If
all UPA partners agreed your proposal, why they have not supported same type of
demands like Jammu, Ladak, Gorkhaland, Bodoland, Vidharbha etc.?
18.
Why
did you appoint committees like Srikrihna and others when you are not
interested to consider and want to ignore completely the reports submitted by
them?
19.
Do
you think Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru did a great mistake by accepting the report
of first SRC for formation of linguistic states? Also do you feel that Smt.
Indira Gandhi did great blunder by not agreeing for division of linguistic
states especially Andhra Pradesh?
20.
Under
what authority party in charge of a state, announce policy of the government?
Sir, your name
will be remembered for ever for laying the foundation to disintegrate the
country by your shortsighted policies if not immediately in the long-run. We congratulate you once again for the same.

Yours sincerely,

Sorry for the
division of AP
The
Honorable Prime Minister,
14.08.2013
Government
of India,
New
Delhi.
Sir,
Sub: Decision
to divide Andhra Pradesh is unfortunate:
You might have received our previous
mails on the issue of division of Andhra Pradesh. Subsequent to that we are now writing the
following for your consideration:
We believe that the division of A.P. state is being done for no
justifiable reason except sons of the soil theory. This has sent shockwaves
to the people of all the regions of the state.
We don’t feel
that you will be happy if country disintegrates. But the actions of the
government are heading to that end. Even now it is not too late to remedy.
Otherwise it is like opening a Pandora’s Box. So allow us to ask you:
1.
Are we in democratic Country? If so
where is the mandate to divide Andhra Pradesh?
2.
How did you arrive at the conclusion
that the party in power, also government has the consent of people of A.P.to
divide it into parts?
3.
Don’t you know members belonging to
ruthless feudal families only started separate Telangana movement to exploit
ignorance, innocence of gullibility of people?
4.
Has any kind of assessment been done on
how division of A.P. will help the working class and particularly Primitive
Tribes living in the state?
5.
Is it not an immature statement made by
the then home minister on 9th December 2009? Did he not make another
amended statement on 23rd December? Which statement should be given
more weightage? Is it not their thoughtlessness to go only with the first
statement?
6.
Do you think Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru and
Smt. Indira Gandhi did great blunders by accepting the report of first SRC for
formation of linguistic states and not agreeing for division of linguistic states
especially Andhra Pradesh?
7. Can you trust turncoats defected
from other parties for the sake of power who are posing as champions of party in
power and government?
8. What is it that your government is going to gain by
serving self-centered political opportunists?
9. Can the country afford to have fickle
minded and shortsighted people at the helm of affairs?
10. Why does the finance minister take more interest
for division of Andhra Pradesh than in improving the economy of the country?
11.
Sir, how can a single individual create so
much havoc in the country? All the people around that person act like yes men
or sycophants.
12.
Even military dictators take care of
their nation’s interests. Are our civil dictators taking no interest in the
nation except recognition and power for them during their lifetime?
13.
Sir is it not time to save the nation from persons interested only in
positions and the sycophants around them.
14.
How can anyone say that Hyderabad is the
sole property of present so called Telangana Districts only? If separate
Telangana movement protagonists really concerned in self-respect of people why
can’t they have it without Hyderabad? Are they ready for it? No; is it not
clear that they are only interested in power
along with revenues of Hyderabad?
15.
Do you believe the head of a family will
be happy after dividing the family?
16. Why should people creating hatred
and jealousy by false propaganda be favoured
and the patriotic people be suppressed? Is it the policy of the government?
17.
Don’t you see that the regional parties will
break up the nation in the long run? If authorities give in to them where will
we be headed?
18.
Don’t you agree that the unity of the
country can be preserved only by national parties as long as they won’t indulge
in encouraging division of states for the sake of power?
19. Don’t you comprehend that there is at least one national party i.e. CPI
(M) which is working for the welfare
of working class as well as against creation of small states in the national interest,
though you may not agree to all their proposals.
20. Though the BJP boasts that it has created three new
states what happened to them? Take the case of Uttarakhand? Had
it been in UP the entire machinery of UP would have been involved to salvage
it. Now it is requesting for help from others.
21. Some
feel that the centre wanted to divert peoples’ attention from the problems like
scams, etc. it has selected to make AP sacrificial animal.
22. When
there are similar demands in other states why only AP is selected for division?
23. Are there no instances where CWC
decisions reversed?
24. As a head of the government if you feel helpless,
then we feel sorry for you.

Yours sincerely,

6.
The
Honorable Prime Minister,
07.09.2013
Government
of India,
New
Delhi.
Sir,
Please understand that our opposition to the division of Andhra
Pradesh is grounded in larger national interest and not in parochial and
partisan interests. We have raised these issues several times in the past. And
here we do so again to underscore the arguments. Creation of Telangana will
give scope for similar demands elsewhere and also there won’t be an end to this
type of demands. This will lead to
anarchy and frustration among different groups of people; finally for
disintegration of the country.
Please note that,
1.
The involvement of Telangana
ministers in separate state movement is a result of a single statement of the
then Home Minister on December 9, 2009. It carries no conviction but is only an
instance of opportunism.
2.
The socalled leaders
of Telangana region oppose presentation of facts to all people of A.P. Can’t they
are not interested in allowing people to know the truth or facts. They do not
want their false propaganda to be exposed.
3.
They disrupt the
meetings of Rayalaseema & Andhra region people in Hyderabad. Was there even
a single incident where their meetings were disturbed anywhere in the state? By
allowing this, you are permitting only disruptive elements to dictate.
4.
The Telangana
protagonists belong to blood sucking families of Patel, Patwari and so called
Doras? They are lazy and spend their time
in Gana Bajanas? They had
perpetrated bonded labour system.
Allow us to ask you a few questions in this
regard.
5. Is it worth for the Prime Minister to create
unhappiness among the people living harmoniously except to satisfy few selfish
people who are coming from human blood succors families, worse than Marwaries?
6.
Sir when you feel hurt for pointing out by the
opposition that you are responsible for the present plight of the country, but
what about people whom you are prepared to do great harm by dividing Andhra Pradesh for no reason?
7.
People of this country know that you are
honest to the core. Will it suffice for a Prime Minister, though it is also
necessary? Is it not obligatory to protect the interests of all the people of a
Nation without any bias?
8.
Don’t you think had the people of freedom
struggle who sacrificed their lives for the cause of independence to this
country alive they would have committed suicide for the present state of
affairs?
9.
Nobody has any
objection to be grateful to a dictatorial
person of your party chief who might be responsible for your present
position? Is it not needed of a Prime
Minister to look after the interests of nearly 125 crore people of this
country?
10. Why did you develop grouse against some
regions of Andhra Pradesh? If you have it, is it worthy of a Prime Minister? Is
it not the duty of P.M. to take steps for the wellbeing of all the citizens of
the Country?
11. How can you justify by creating small states
economy will improve? Don’t you agree that the present crises in economy are
due to mishandling of the government?
12. Your finance minister says there is no dearth of
funds for food security? If it is true why Rupee is in such a gloomy position?
Do you think that he is suitable for that post? Why he takes more interest in
the division of A.P. than concentrating to rescue down fall of the value of
Rupee?
13.
Why do you support persons
interested in investments in shares only?
14. We are sure you might be knowing some characters like Shakuni and Shalya in Mahabharata story in which they were depicted as evil minded but
posing as well-wishers and loyal to the rulers, now the same type of characters
are playing in the guise of advisers to your party chief and party in charges
of A.P. state.
15. What happened at the time of and after partition
of India? Has the problem solved? No. why? Who benefitted by partition? Is it
common man? No. But who? Only the ruling classes? Even after 66 years, are
people living peacefully in both the countries? Is it not typical example that divisions
of provinces are not going to help the common people except the disgruntled
politicians who are after power?
16. Sir,
do you encourage the cause of people who are not interested to divide
the linguistic states formed with some purpose or cause of persons
interested only in power and money which may ultimately lead to disintegration
of our Nation?
17. So called leaders of Telangana are assuring
that they will give protection to other regions people in Hyderabad if separate
state is formed. Is it not the responsibility of state governments and the
government of India to protect the lives of all its citizens? Who are they to assure? Are they having
goonda gangs at their command? Do such people deserve for any official
position?
18. Is
there any one of your cabinet colleagues or CWC members who can use their own
reason and point out their own view to your autocratic party chief? Now it is
time for you to decide whether you want to keep the country united or let it
disintegrate even after some time to stick on to the chair.
Is there anything that is final, permanent and
irrevocable Please think?

Yours sincerely,

7.
The
Honorable Prime Minister,
13.09.2013
Government
of India,
New
Delhi.
Sir,
We have taken note of your recent statement commending the
qualities of Rahul Gandhi and thereby your admission that you yourself do not
have the abilities and powers to conduct the business of Government of India.
These supposed qualities of Rahul Gandhi appear to be entirely in having direct
personal access to the Congress high command. This is a sorry state of affairs
and we are not at all surprised at the kind of confusion that the party is
pushing the state of Andhra Pradesh into at this point.
Nevertheless, allow us to state our position
once more. Our opposition to the division of Andhra Pradesh is grounded in larger
national interest and not in parochial and partisan interests. We have raised these issues several times
in the past. And here we do so again to underscore the arguments. Creation
of Telangana will give scope for similar demands elsewhere. There won’t be an
end to this type of demands. This will
lead to anarchy and frustration among different groups of people; and finally
for disintegration of the country. The Telangana protagonists belong to blood
sucking families of Patel, Patwari and so called Doras. They are lazy and spend their time in Gana Bajanas. They had perpetrated bonded labour system. As the saying
goes, old habits die hard. When they come back to power and reinstitute old
mechanisms of exploitation.
Please note that,
1. Telangana leaders have been disrupting the
meetings of Rayalaseema & Andhra people in Hyderabad. There has never been
an incident of Telangana meetings being disrupted by anyone anywhere. By
allowing this, you are permitting only disruptive elements to dictate.
2. The involvement of Telangana ministers in
separate state movement is a result of a single immature statement of the then
Home Minister on December 9, 2009. It carries no conviction but is only an
instance of opportunism.
3. The so-called leaders of Telangana region oppose
presentation of facts to all people of A.P. Can’t you understand by that they are
not interested in allowing people to know the truth or facts? Is it not clear
that they do not want their false propaganda to be exposed?
We once again request
you to ponder over on the following:
a) All
well meaning Telugu speaking People wanted to unite under one administration except
few cruel minded feudals who were supporters of Nizam. Because of that and on the basis of recommendation
of First State Reorganization Commission A.P. was formed.
b) After
the formation of A.P. in 1956 the people of Telangana region who enjoyed
absolute tyrannical power over the working class lost it.
c)
Since then the working classes who
were under the clutches of Patels, Patwaries and so called Doras have slowly
started coming out of the shackles of these merciless exploiters. And they have
slowly getting educated which was a
dream for them earlier.
d)
Self
respect of common people has improved in Telangana only after 1956. Earlier
these people could not wear foot- ware in the presence of those oppressive
tyrants and also they were forced to run on barefoot before and on either side
of their horse carts. And also they were made habituated to utter humiliating
words like “Nee kalmoktha Dora” (I worship your feet), “nee banchan Dora” (I am
your slave), etc.
e)
It
was only in 1956; Hyderabad became the capital for the Telugu speaking areas but
not for eight districts of Telangana which were under Nizam.
f) Bonded
labour which was prevalent in this region is also abolished.
g) These
developments have irked the earlier bosses and their offsprings of the
erstwhile Hyderabad province of A.P.
h) These
ruthless feudal exploiters of all sorts are making hue and cry with false
propaganda of development and employment, and also started giving false hopes
to the gullible people of the region.
i)
Can
anybody prove that the wealth created in the so called Telangana districts was
taken away to Andhra and Rayalaseema areas? On the other hand the wealth from
other parts (Andhra and Rayalaseema areas) was brought and invested in the
present Telangana districts and thus created more employment.
j)
Irrational
sentiments are aroused by the anti-social, power-hungry, unemployed politicians
along with some corrupt employees. So, such elements must be checked or curbed
at the budding stage itself.
k) Are
the Persons whose actions will create hatred among the people and finally lead
to disintegration of the country being treated as patriots or antinationals?
l)
‘Sons
of the soil’ theory will ruin the unity of the Country and only anarchy will
rule. Had the authorities taken an uncompromising step at the initial stage on
the Siva Sena and like parties
the present state of affairs would have not come up, and the Country might
not have faced problems with these callous divisive forces.
m)
Some
people are quoting Dr.Ambedkar
saying that he favored smaller sates for administrative convenience. He said
this only when the Transport and
Communication systems were not developed. The same people never say
that Dr.Ambedkar specifically recommended Hyderabad to be the second capital of
India.
Allow us to ask you a few questions in this
regard.
4. Is it worthy of the Prime Minister to create
unhappiness among the people living harmoniously except to satisfy few selfish
people who are coming from human blood suckers families?
5.
Sir you feel hurt at the slightest suggestion that
you are responsible for the present plight of the country. Yet you have no
hesitation in harming hundreds of thousands of young people and others by dividing Andhra Pradesh for no reason?
6.
People of this country know that you are
honest to the core. Will it suffice for a Prime Minister, though it is also
necessary? Is it not obligatory to protect the interests of all the people of a
Nation without any bias?
7.
Sir you may feel grateful
to a dictatorial chief of your party who might be responsible
for your present position? But having
occupied that high office, is it not your responsibility to look after the
interests of nearly 125 crore people of this country?
8. Your actions clearly suggest malevolence towards
some regions of Andhra Pradesh? If you have it, is it worthy of a Prime Minister?
Is it not the duty of P.M. to take steps for the wellbeing of all the citizens
of the Country?
9. How can you justify by creating small states,
economy will improve? Don’t you agree that the present crises in economy are
due to mishandling of the government?
10. Your finance minister says there is no dearth of
funds for food security? If it is true why Rupee is in such a gloomy position?
Do you think that he is suitable for that post? Why he takes more interest in
the division of A.P. than concentrating to rescue down fall of the value of
Rupee?
11.
Why do you support persons
interested in investments in shares only?
12. We are sure you might be knowing some characters like Shakuni and Shalya in Mahabharata story in which they were depicted as evil minded but
posing as well-wishers and loyal to the rulers, now the same type of characters
are playing in the guise of advisers to your party chief and party in charges
of A.P. state.
13. Sir,
do you encourage the cause of people who are not interested to divide
the linguistic states formed with some purpose or cause of persons
interested only in power and money which may ultimately lead to disintegration
of our Nation?
14. So called leaders of Telangana assuring that
they will give protection to other regions people in Hyderabad if separate
state is formed. Is it not the responsibility of state governments and the
government of India to protect the lives of all its citizens? Who are they to
assure? Are they having goonda gangs
at their command? Do such people deserve for any official position?
15. Is
there any one of your cabinet colleagues or CWC members who can use their own
reason and point out their own view to your autocratic party chief? Is it the reason that you are favouring Mr.Rahul
Gandhi for the post of P.M.? Otherwise how did you arrive to the conclusion
that he is only suitable for that post out of 125 crore people? Don’t you know
the chair a person occupies will
make that person learn most of the things?
16. We are happy that you have admitted by your statement
though your party is a national party it is in no way better than any regional
party where all affairs are controlled by the party head and his/her family members
only.
17. Is it not true that Nehru family made great
sacrifices for the cause of unity of the Country, though they also enjoyed
power? But why the same family members today are forgetting their sacrifices
for self interest, although these persons are getting respect because of them?
18. Don’t you know Sri K.Kamaraj Nadar,
Sri.N.Sanjeeva Reddy, Sri.Lalbahadur Sastry, etc., proved honest and capable
administrators?
19. What happened at the time of and after
partition of India? Has the problem solved? No. why? Who benefitted by
partition? Is it common man? No. But who? Only the ruling classes? Even after
66 years, are people living peacefully in both the countries? Is it not typical
example that divisions of provinces are not going to help the people except the
disgruntled politicians who are after power?
20. Now
it is time for you to decide whether you want to keep the country united or let
it disintegrate even after some time to stick on to the chair.
21. Don’t you think had the people of freedom struggle who
sacrificed their lives for the cause of independence to this country alive they
would have committed suicide for the present state of affairs?
Sir,
is there anything that is final, permanent and irrevocable Please think? Please don’t allow the country’s unity be
disturbed at any cost by yielding to the demands of separatists who are not at
all concerned about the peoples welfare and National integration.
With regards,
Yours sincerely,

The Honorable Prime
Minister,
08.10.2013
Government of India,
New Delhi.
Respected
Sir,
Please take some trouble to go through the letter we are sending
to you about division of linguistic States. These states were formed with a purpose
by the then leaders. We have written to you about this in the past repeatedly. We
are aware that you have a very limited freedom to act independently on matters where
your party chief is interested. But we have no other alternative except to
request you not to disturb the present
structure of Linguistic States except in cases where it helps Hill Tribes, in the larger interest of the Nation,
as long as you are P.M.
We feel sad that your Cabinet has taken a stand to divide Andhra
Pradesh. We believe that the decision is hasty, unthinking and at best and
malafide at worst. Why you people have taken it as a prestige issue? It appears
to be done only to appease some cruel minded power hungry individuals of so
called Telangana region or to satisfy the ego of your party chief. It seems you
are ready to bear insults to get a third term or to get two digit figure as
P.M. even at the cost of people of
entire Nation. You put up with the insulting behavior of an inexperienced
politician and yet you do not pay any
heed to the voices of the public. How can you explain this to your own
conscience?
Allow us to point out that
1.
Some of the Telangana leaders are
opposing merger of Bhadrachalam division with East Godavari district by
separating it from Khammam district in case of division of the state. If so,
why they are not applying the same analogy for united Andhra Pradesh especially
to Hyderabad?
2.
The majority of Telangana region
people are not interested in the division of state. They are not expressing their
feelings openly because of fear with some goonda gangs. If you want to know the
truth, please have opinion poll by secret ballot by presenting all the facts to
them.
3.
When
you are not allowed to keep up your assurances then why should you care for
other party members? For example you made it clear number of times that A.P.
will not be divided unless there is unanimity among the people and also
promised to appoint a government committee to ascertain the feelings of people
of the state.
4.
Why
is Mr.A.K.Anthony, a good and non-corrupt person is made
committee head along with gang of three
to toe their line, so that his image also is tarnished in the public eye?
5. Why does your party chief show such animosity against people of Rayalaseema
and Andhra regions? What harm they have done? Why you also support? Is it to
exhibit your unflinching gratitude? Do you think this type of attitudes will help
anyone?
6.
What
is the reason for taking a stance for destroying the democratic setup of our
country? Why is your government not concerned about the feelings of people? Also your
administration is giving an impression that Constitution is meant only to
hoodwink the public not for giving a framework for governing the ruling classes
in any way.
And allow us to ask you
1. Sir, which way do
you choose to go? Unity of the country and welfare of the society or serving
the power-hungry even at the cost of Nation’s unity? Can you expect the Country to remain
united and peaceful for long with the present policies of the government?
2.
Do you think that the
investigating agencies should work as per the dictates of the ruling party to
safeguard its interests only? Do you want them to
act as ruling party pocket organizations? People are feeling A.P’s. case is
typical example for this. Is it not the reason why all sorts of corrupt people
want power to keep the public ignorant and illiterate?
3. Is it not a fact
that Telangana region leaders of your party and ministers have joined the
bandwagon of separatists only after childish
statement made by the then home minister on 9th December, 2009?
Do you think depending on such turn coats, opportunists and hypocrites are good?
4.
Can the Hyderabad city
belong to any one particular region? It is built by the sweat and blood of
people of all the regions of the state and some other parts of the country.
Sir, please understand that
1.
Sops and doles are not going to fetch
you votes for long. Take policy decisions so that one should get his due for
one’s own labour.
2.
People
are slowly losing faith in all the three
wings enshrined in our constitution, i.e., Legislature, Executive and the Judiciary.
The Drafting Committee members of our
Constitution would have not expected that the present generation of politicians behave in such a horrible
way.
3.
Making
A.P. the sacrificial animal to offer as birthday gift to someone without taking
note of why people of Rayalaseema and Andhra regions are expressing their
anguish against the division of state is a dangerous step.
4. If Hyderabad is made the capital for
Telangana region exclusively, then the youth of the other regions of the state
have nowhere to go for employment. Other regions will not be able to mobilize
revenues to pay salaries and for developmental activities. People from Rayalaseema and Andhra regions have to live with great
humiliation as 2nd or 3rd rate citizens and not as
equals.
5.
Sycophants
of your party chief are bent-on to upset the unity of our nation like Sakuni and Shalya in Mahabharata story, or else is there
any valid reason for division of
A.P. except sons of the soil theory?
Your acceptance to it gives an
impression that you are not at all interested in Nation’s unity, except in
chair like any other power hungry person? By your hasty decision on A.P. will there be an end to such demands in
other places?
6.
After the formation of A.P. in 1956, persons of
Telangana region who enjoyed absolute tyrannical power over the working class
lost it. That has irked them and their offsprings of the erstwhile Hyderabad
province of A.P. Because of that only separatist
movement.
7.
These cruel people
are creating wrong notions in the minds of people of Telangana against people
of other regions of A.P. They are not bothered with exploiters, but they are
opposing only Rayalaseema and Andhra regions people, as they are competitors in
sharing of political power in united state of Andhra Pradesh, and also they
can’t treat and have their hold on working class like slaves anymore.
8.
If they are
really interested in the welfare of people let them wage struggle against all
exploiters of any sort, then nobody will find fault. But the present separatist
movement is only spearheaded by ruthless feudal exploiters of Telangana region for political power only.
9. Your tolerance
for TRS party chief’s utterances gives an impression that your government is
encouraging him. All TRS main actors
amassed wealth by blackmailing. Let the people be made aware of these things
and fight against the persons enjoying in farmhouses and guest houses at the
cost of them.
10. If you give entire revenue and all infrastructural
developments exclusively to Telangana, then all the false propaganda spread by
them be vindicated and also it
amounts to giving credibility to
their false propaganda. People belonging
to other regions of A.P. will suffer great mental torture. This will lead to frustration and these mental
wounds can’t be healed by your assurances.
11. We therefore again request you to reconsider your
cabinet’s decision on to divide A.P. Please don’t go by wrong advises of few
individuals (like a gang of four in Duryodhana’s
court in Mahabharata story) who are taking the issue as personal. The only justice to all regions can be done
only by keeping the state united. Otherwise your action will cause permanent
harm to the people of Andhra and Rayalaseema regions which cannot be rectified
by any other measure.
12.
One of your party
spokesmen says that your party is unique
national party. But instead of protecting the national interest, he is trying only to satisfy personal ego of one
individual by giving wrong advises. Your party is also supporting irrational sentiments for its existence, like
BJP.
13.
People
will remember you for your non-corrupt mind-set, but they will remember forever
for your loyalty like Karna in
Mahabharata story to an egoist person who is having some grudge on the
people of India. Also for steps initiated
for disintegration of the country.
14.
Sir,
your government’s actions are giving an impression that they are worse than
dictatorship and the measures are going to bury the democratic fabric of our
country.
15.
When
you can take back the ordinance to satisfy your party chief’s son, can’t you
take back the decision of cabinet in the interest of crores of people? You can
do justice to all regions only by keeping the state of A.P. united. Otherwise
great harm is going to occur to Andhra and Rayalaseema region people. Your
cabinet members are not capable to understand the problems of the state.
16.
Is
there any one in your cabinet who can use their own rational faculties and go
against the dictates of your party chief?
17.
Sir,
your government says Hyderabad will be the joint capital for all the regions
for ten years even after making it clear that it will be the capital only for
Telangana after that. That means Andhra and Rayalaseema region people have to
live in their place on rent.
18.
Anybody
can live anywhere happily but people belonging to Andhra and Rayalaseema
regions can’t live happily in Hyderabad after division as proposed. Since the mean
persons who started the separatist movement have spread false propaganda to create
hatred in the minds of Telangana region people by telling that the people belonging
to other regions have looted their property. Because of that Andhra and Rayalaseema people
will not be allowed to live peacefully as equals after division, whatever assurances anybody may give now.
19.
Can
you explain to the people of our country, why you are creating Telangana state
which was not there at any point of time? whom it is going to help? Will it
better the lives of innocent, ignorant and illiterate Hill Tribes as well as
working class or power hungry
exploiters of the region?
20.
Who
gave mandate to the parties corrupt chiefs to give assent for the division of
state? Is it not necessary to consider the feelings of people of the entire
state in such matters?
In spite of all these we request you to
keep your health as well as nation’s in good condition. Finally we also request
you not to depend on members of your cabinet.
With
regards,
Yours
sincerely,
J.V. Ramana Reddy,
S R Sankaran Grama Chaitanya Kendram,

9.
The Honorable Prime
Minister, 08.10.2013
Government of India,
New Delhi.
Respected Sir,
We
congratulate you for crucifying democracy at the altar of party interests. You proved
that you can deceive people into believing that their voices are being heard. Your
loyalty to your party boss is praise worthy like Karna in Mahabharata story. We
feel extremely sorry for having wrong notions about you and your party chief.
You and some others say that justice will be done to all, after division of A.P. Will it be possible to do it? Your
statement that you will do justice to all is like first making people bankrupt
and then giving chocolates as if they are weeping children. Whatever amount of
money you may offer is not going to heal the mental wounds caused by division
and can’t keep the Country united for long. Why can’t you ask the people who
want division of state to have their own capitals by not giving even a single
pie for infrastructural development?
We
had high hopes on you as saviour; and believed that you will protect the
interests of all citizens of this country. We are not able to understand why
your party chief is having animosity against people of some regions? Is it because
people supported your party? It appears that your party chief is interested to close
down the party to fulfill the wishes of Mahatma Gandhi long ago?
You
are making people to learn that one should not depend on, and trust a person
who is only interested in the seat of power and loyal to someone. Also you are
telling people be ready to put up with any pain
that you are going
to cause by way of mental wounds which can’t be healed to satisfy someone.
You
made people of Andhra and Rayalaseema to shed tears for their blind belief on
you. Don’t you think that your attitude will give an impression that corrupt
and efficient administrator who can foresee the consequences is better than non-corrupt
blind supporter?
Your
party in-charge of A.P. says he was given assurances by the leaders of some
political parties, that they have no objection for division of State. Did he
tell anyone that you are going to make Hyderabad capital of Telangana region exclusively?
And also who gave them mandate for division?
What
is the exercise done by home ministry while preparing a note on division of
A.P.? Is it called exercise for simply presenting the same proposal prepared by
your party chief? Why you were in haste to take such decision?
With regards,
Yours sincerely,
J.V.
